In a strategic move to boost bilateral collaboration on climate change action, Ghana’s Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Issifu Seidu, has hosted a working visit by the Denmark Ambassador to Ghana, Tom Norring, in his office in Accra on July 15, 2025.

The visit allowed the minister inform the ambassador of the mandate of the newly-established Office of the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability.

The meeting also focused on deepening collaboration in areas such as deepening climate governance, green investment and building capacity for institutional development in Ghana and Africa as whole.

According to him, the plans for the establishment of the National Climate and Sustainability Hub, a centralised platform for data, research, financing, and training and institutionalising climate and sustainability units in all government agencies, will help to integrate climate action into public sector planning and execution to help improve economic resilience, as well as improve climate sustainability.

The minister further stated that debt forgiveness for African countries is a critical step to improve climate action toward enhancing climate resilience, adding that it is the only way to change the environmental and economic narratives of the country.
