The “Da Vinci 5” is the latest robotic technology that helps doctors perform surgical procedures for urology, gynecology and general surgeries. It’s the fifth robotics system at St. Anthony Hospital. “I look in the headset here, which has a 3-D view of the operative field, so inside the patient,” Ramadan said. And then surgeons use the system’s controls. “The robot can do motions that I physically can’t do, like with my hands. They’re calling the new technology a true game changer. “We can do these surgeries in a lot of different ways,” Ramadan said. “It’s not a question of can we do a successful operation. The question now is how can we minimize that to do a successful operation and get people back to what they need to do.”
