Pakistan’s fixture against India at WCL was cancelled after the latter pulled out of the fixture
World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 continues to be in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, as Pakistan now demand full points for their cancelled fixture against India. Earlier this week, the Indian legends side pulled out of their clash against Pakistan due to the ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
Several Indian players – captain Yuvraj Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Yusuf Pathan – wrote to show their displeasure over facing Pakistan, pulling out of the contest.
ANI reported that WCL explained to England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) the reason behind the match being called off. However, Pakistan weren’t really happy with WCL as they demanded full points, given that they were ready to play India in Birmingham.
“WCL have conveyed to England and Wales Cricket Board that they, as organisers, were not able to conduct this match. The India Champions team are not at fault. Pakistan Champions team are not willing to share points because they are saying that it is India who backed out, not them,” ANI’s report said.
Pakistan Champions’ owner Kamil Khan too showed his displeasure over split points.
“If we reach the final, then the decisions regarding that will be made then. And as for this match, the two points will be awarded to us, and we deserve those points as per the rules,” he said.
