  2. Am always surprised about the low population downstream. On the other hand I am very happy about it, less impact on the ecosystem. Compared it to the Rhine river …

  3. Before noticing the arrow I’ve wondered if I slept through a silent Slovakian invasion of Poland 😀

  4. Why do Budapest and Belgrade have higher spikes than Vienna, even if they’ve a lower population?

  5. 18 million within a 50km doesn’t really all that high. I would assume there are several rivers in Europe with more population along it (e.g. the Rhine/Rhein/Rijn).

  6. Dumb American here. How the fuck is Germany to Moldova only 50KM? That math ain’t mathing even in Freedom Units™️

  7. They need to rename it to Bienna.

    Bienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Belgrade.

  8. Passau should be here as it’s important for the river

  9. This map forgets Linz, another important Austrian city with over 210K people (more than Ulm & Regenbsurg).

  10. Kinda crazy that the upstream Danube is a relatively sparsely populated region of Germany. Well I can think of many even less populated regions but Bavaria is slightly below average and that includes the big cities which aren’t near the Danube.
