Too late for my nan, but I hope people listen to the NHS and not the lies and misinformation spread by right wing grifters, Facebook or our Government.
“The NHS Confederation urged ministers to reinvigorate its public information campaign on Covid-19, including a renewed focus on mask wearing and limiting indoor mixing.”
Do these people really think people will be on board with this? COVID is here to stay, why should we go in and out of these ‘rules’ with no end in sight?
> However, Downing Street has today rejected the call, and said there is “no change” to its living with covid plan.
Not sure “plan” is the right word for “pretend it doesn’t exist”.
Mask wearing I have no problem with. I won’t be happy with limited indoor mixing though.
Bring back limits or distancing is highly unlikely because of the fact it will further cripple recovery if not kill businesses such as cinemas or theatres that were hit heavy during the pandemic. And the government will not prop them up further (and in many cases it won’t be enough anyway)
People may say people don’t care, when in fact they do, and such measures decrease the confidence of large amounts of the population which in turn has a knock on effect elsewhere.
The issue appears to be the NHS & the government. The NHS is vastly ran to limits each year and nothing is done about it. It seems to be both a fault of the government and a fault of the leadership in the NHS. Which evidently needs sorting.
But when does it stop? They’ve been saying this stuff ever since, well, spring 2020.
There has to be a stopping criteria for this sort of thing.
Bringing back number limits on mixing is a complete non starter due to the state of the economy.
Without financial support, this all but ensures shuttering more businesses.
Yes, I would like the world to revolve around me as well.
I’ll wear a mask again if I have to but that’s about it.
I think most people don’t care anymore.
Covid is just not deadly for the majority of the population
I’ve had COVID this last week and I’ve not left the house, I’ve no intention of killing someone I bump into
We’ve decided it’s more important for arseholes to do whatever they want than to have a working health system. I don’t agree, but that’s life.
Honestly I do understand the concerns that vulnerable people have around COVID, but considering we basically shut the country down for two years and spent a fortune fighting COVID, it’s kind of a slap in the face to still be wanting more done, while the cost of living crisis has had basically no help from the government, but people are wanting yet more money thrown after free testing and the like
