Dozens dead after Ha Long Bay tourist boat capsizes in Vietnam • FRANCE 24 English

These passengers were among those rescued. They were taken to shore in Harlong Bay in Vietnam after their sightseeing boat capsized in a sudden thunderstorm. 48 passengers, including around 20 children along with five crew members, were on board the vessel named the Wonder Sea. The approach of a tropical storm led to strong winds, heavy rainfall, and lightning. Survivors were taken to hospital. I have lost contact with my son, my husband, and my friend’s whole family. I am asking for everyone to speed up the rescue mission to save all of them. Local media reported that authorities mobilized border guards, the Navy, police, port authorities, along with 27 boats and two rescue craft. A national weather forecast said that the tropical storm is expected to hit Vietnam’s northern region, including Harlong Bay’s coast, next week.

  3. Incompetent leadership and poor industry standards. Blame the official and greedy businesses. Don’t trust the and spare the money to go elsewhere on vacations where you’re truly taken care of. Not worth the risk and worldwide embarrassment to be on tv
