  1. Looks amazing! Are you originally from Clare or have family there? I often find myself browsing houses outside Dublin and envy at the space and surroundings but have no family outside Dublin and a widowed parent. I always think fair play to those who do it but wouldn’t be brave enough myself! Hope you have many happy years to come 😊

  2. I’m jealous. I’ve a few more years left in Dublin then it’s straight to the country side with me. Best of luck in the new home

  3. Unreal lad, the envy is real… Enjoy it, no doubt you worked hard for it and the time has come…. Keep that decking in order too lol

  4. OP as someone who moved from the town to the countryside as a child, please make sure your children have decent access to amenities and when they make friends that they can visit regularly. When you’re an adult the countryside seems grand because you can just hop in the car and go where you want but as a child it can be very isolating and lonely, particularly if neighbouring kids decide they don’t like you for being a blow-in.

  5. Great trad music out there, if you’re into that kind of stuff. Lots of sessions over in Ennis and corrofin

  6. Moved from Cork city to West Cork just as the pandemic hit. Here’s the view from up the hill https://imgur.com/a/W4fH0cO
2 years here and I can safely say: I’ll gladly put up with the slower internet. Higher electricity costs, zero Public transport, no public water or sanitation services just to know I can wake up to this every morning.

  7. Beautiful view.

What’s the school situation like out there? I’m looking at moving to Ireland in the coming year or two, and will likely have a job that would allow me to live in a somewhat rural area. I have a 10 year old daughter who will need to go to school, though, so I’d be interested to know what it’s like finding schools if you live in a place like this.

  8. Lucky fecker! I have some family out that way and when I was a girl I always used to say I wanted to live in lahinch. But now I’m on the other side of the world with my Aussie family I can’t see that happening. Anyway best of luck with it all.

  9. Moved last year, it was definitely an adjustment but I wouldn’t have it any other way now. I dread having to go to the city when I need to!

  10. Looks gorgeous. There’s times when I can see myself happily living off in the country side somewhere waking up to the sounds of birds and distant sheep bleating and just enjoying the calmness of it all.

Then I remember how inadequate the rural infrastructure is and how lonely it can be because we are pretty bad at supporting our ever shrinking towns and villages.

  11. rural ireland seems so peaceful and nice. the people are kinder than in dublin and the air is more sweeter. and im just talking from my three days waterford experience.

  12. Beautiful, congrats and the best of luck.

Side comment, why do people install decking upside down, shouldn’t the groves be on the bottom.

  13. Great and what a lovely view! Ive grown up in the countryside practically all my life, just leaving for my first year of 3rd level this year. Wouldnt have wanted to grow up anywhere else, for me nothing beats the peace and quiet of the countryside and all of the nature around you. I could never hack it in a place like Dublin.

  14. Get the kids in to surfing if they are water babies, they will be fit as fiddles for rest of their lives, best of luck to you all, great spot out on the coast 👍
