SEOUL, July 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Group said Tuesday it will supply official vehicles for high-level Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministerial meetings to be hosted by South Korea next month.

The automotive group signed an agreement with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to provide official vehicles for the 15th APEC Energy Ministerial Meeting, the 16th Clean Energy Ministerial Meeting and the 10th Mission Innovation Ministerial Meeting scheduled to take place in Busan in August.

The group will provide a total of 63 zero-emission vehicles, including 34 units of the Nexo hydrogen fuel cell sport utility vehicle (SUV), 12 units of the Genesis G80 electric sedan and three hydrogen-powered Universe buses.

Hyundai said the vehicle lineup will highlight the group’s technological strengths and long-term vision for a sustainable future. It marks the first time hydrogen-powered vehicles will serve as primary protocol vehicles for international energy ministerial events.

“By showcasing our eco-friendly vehicles at a venue that discusses the future of global energy, we hope to share our vision for sustainability and innovation with the world,” Kim Dong-wook, executive vice president at Hyundai Motor Group, said.
