Vice President JD Vance is expected to travel to Nantucket on Tuesday to attend a political fundraiser on the island.
The fundraiser is for the Republican National Committee and will be held at a private residence, The Nantucket Current reported, which obtained a copy of the invitation.
Attendees have to pay $250,000 to be on the host committee, or $100,000 to attend the dinner, according to the Current.
A number of groups are planning to hold a rally in protest of Vance’s visit to Nantucket. The protest is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Children’s Beach.
Among the hosts of the rally is Amanda McGonigle of Instagram account, Cats on a Couch.
The New York Times reports that Vance’s stop in Nantucket is one in a string of a busy fundraising schedule the vice president is undertaking this summer, which also includes visits to San Diego and Wyoming.
Vance is serving as the finance chairman of the Republican National Committee.
