The Canadian energy company Central European Petroleum (CEP) announced the discovery of the largest oil and gas field in Poland, located near Wolin Island in the Baltic Sea. This information was confirmed by Euronews.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the reserves of this field may reach 22 million tons of oil and 5 billion cubic meters of gas.
“The Wolin East oil and gas field is the largest conventional hydrocarbon field discovered to date in Poland, and one of the largest conventional oil fields discovered in Europe over the past decade.”

The WE1 well was drilled using a rig at a sea depth of 9.5 meters, reaching a vertical depth of 2,715 meters.

Currently, the company is beginning to seek partners to organize production. The CEO noted that CEP aims to collaborate with both Polish and international companies engaged in exploration and extraction.
