  1. **From reporter Lee Moran:**

Stephen Colbert turned Monday’s episode of “The Late Show” into a star-studded mocking of CBS’s decision to end his long-running program.

Colbert invited “Weird Al” Yankovic and Lin-Manuel Miranda on stage for a surprise musical number aimed at cheering up fans “bummed” about the show ending. The duo performed Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida,” a tongue-in-cheek nod to the band’s recent viral jumbotron moment.

The camera panned across the audience and captured Colbert’s rival late night hosts Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart, John Oliver and Seth Meyers; CNN’s Anderson Cooper and “Real Housewives” producer Andy Cohen; and actors Adam Sandler and “Happy Gilmore” co-star Christopher McDonald.

A cartoon version of President Donald Trump then appeared, hugging the Paramount logo in a spoof of Coldplay’s recent concert controversy.

  2. It was remarkable, and heartening, to hear Jon Stewart and choir tell advertisers and corporate lackeys bending the knee in anticipatory compliance to Trump to go fuck themselves.

  3. Calling something “epic trolling” is 2015 levels of humor

  4. Shameful to pretend it is political and not economical. His show was losing $40,000,000 a year and not making any progress in terms of viewership. There is not a proper business in the world that would continue to bleed $40,000,000 with no hope in sight of any possible change in the situation. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

  5. All these rich guys should band together and start their own tv channel before they all get cancelled.

  6. I just watched V for Vendetta again. Everyone should watch it again. There’s a scene in the movie that’s similar. The whole movie is freaking aligned with this timeline it’s scary.
