  3. UNESCO is a branch within the UN and every time a president has tried to withdraw from UNESCO, the next president would realize withdrawing was stupid and immediately re-enter it. (Reagan left it and Trump left it (twice) for example just for the USA to come running back when adults got back in the WH)

    I wonder if at some point UNESCO directors eventually start spazzing out over this trolling as it’s hard to plan when a large donor randomly decides to disappear for a bit.

But if you kind of follow the Bircher wing of the GOP, they’ve been obsessed with this since the 50s when the US Helped establish it.   33. Guys, if you ignore Zaphod at the top and look at a lot of the policies the US has been making, it seems like someone in the admin doesn’t want people visiting the US, regardless of reason. Canadians aren’t gonna pay $250 for the “privilege” of visiting. UNESCO sites are a huge draw (and now they can be exploited for resources).
