Australian shares are set to rise at open on Wednesday as investors parse the central bank’s latest minutes from its policy meeting for interest rate clues, while strong commodity prices may bolster mining and gold stocks on the resource-heavy bourse.

The local share price index futures (YAPcm1) rose 0.5%, a 3.8-point premium to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index XJO close. The benchmark ended flat at 8,677.20 points on Tuesday.

New Zealand’s benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index NZ50G inched 0.1% higher in early trade.
