  1. Currently it was published as “signed” on rada.gov.ua, but now the status is back to “signature pending”.

    It’s a shitshow.

Edit: And it’s back to “Signed”

  2. How can you still be corrupt while under siege? Have they not learned anything? Losing the EU support would be the nail in the coffin.

  3. Ah the world gets a glimpse into pre full scale war Zelensky whom we all thought was gone.

Not to sure if it’s been signed yet though.

  4. I was pro-Zelensky for a long time, even though I didn’t vote for him. But I must say this now. Zelensky is no longer my president.

  5. Backsliding on anti-corruption does not look good when you are asking the international community for billions of dollars worth of support for the war effort.

  6. Can anyone provide some level analysis as to why they would do this? This seems to be directly contrary to EU and western integration efforts. There has to be some kind of perceived upside or justification, right?

  7. With this law in place, Ukraine does not belong in the EU.

    Repeal it.

  8. Well now the Russians have ammo to try convince people not to support Ukraine now. But won’t change my mind I will still support Ukraine

  9. honestly Zelensky lost huge part of his reputation.People literally were screaming “Ганьба”and were joking about Zelensky after news about signing that trash law

  10. Been doom scrolling for a while about this and something just occurred to me.

The Danish model of support – the one that’s been said to be the most effective – where countries instead of sending already made weaponry invest into Ukranian industries instead… It might be threatened by this.

Ukraine will not lose support. But given that Europe is now undeniably the main supporter, and it’s precisely that they lack ready-made things but are willing to donate money… This is worrying.

  11. What the fuck, in a time where Ukraine is most in need of international support (with the US being obviously compromised), they do this? It will be easy for many countries to ignore, but the EU will not ignore this. I’m not implying they will halt support for Ukraine, but it is a dangerous move.

I get that Ukraine is fighting for it’s survival, it is total war for Ukraine. But their best bet would be to maintain or implement policies that their biggest supporters like. Ukraine is backed by the EU, UK, USA (limited), others, but no western democracy will see this and ignore it entirely.

Ukraine might get away with it because war, but that is not guaranteed. It just provides ammunition to political opponents (think Russian financed far right parties of any western democracy) of continued military and economic aid to Ukraine by the countries supporting Ukraine.

Ukraine wishes to join the EU, then they do this. Naturally, EU countries will say their desire to join the EU was pragmatic for their continued survival, rather than an actual desire to join the EU. I again am not implying this is the case, I think 90% of Ukraine would love to join the EU, but this is not a good move to make that happen.

  12. What still I dont get if it was a bad move why didnt EU push not to have it signed?

  13. Very disappointed in this news! My friends are out in the streets protesting now. I’m glad that Ukrainians are having such a visceral negative reaction to this, it means that its democratic values are still intact.

  14. Well congrats, you just gave Russia their biggest victory in over a year and they didn’t even have to lose a single soldier for it

  15. NABU got too close to Zelenskyy’s friends like Chernishov or another guy from Kvartal95, it was a matter of time they would expose him.
Zelenskyy is the face of anti-maidan and always has been

  16. Been reading comments trying to make sense of the situation and it’s all convoluted. To an outsider like myself, this looks like a cluster fuck.

  17. Zelenskyy going full oligarch puppet, shame. I’m sorry to all of you that fought and worked on your country to achieve Western standards.

  18. I’m sure this is an anti-corruption measure. It’s possible that the actual anti-corruption task forces were infiltrated and became corrupt themselves. Zelensky might just be restructuring things. It makes the most sense. I still trust him and believe he is acting in Ukraines best interests.
