MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Dane County Executive Melissa Agard signed the 2025–2030 Dane County Parks and Open Space Plan on Tuesday.
Dane County officials said this plan will service as a roadmap that will guide conservation, recreation and public access priorities for the next five years.
“This plan reflects our values as a community. Protecting open spaces, preserving natural resources, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy Dane County’s parks and trails,” said Agard. “We’re laying the groundwork today for a healthier, more equitable, and more sustainable future.”
City officials said the plan will help identify environmental corridors, set priorities for recreational opportunities, and place a strong focus on equity, ensuring that park investments benefit all residents in Dane County.
