(WASHINGTON) – This is Steven Harmeyer and I’m in Southeast Indiana pretty much everyday of the year, except now.
I’ve been on a work trip to Washington, D.C. since Saturday (I’ll share more soon) and just had the coolest experience that I want to share with you.
Tuesday was my last night here so I bought cheap tickets in right field for the Nationals and Reds baseball game.
Moments before first pitch, a ton of security came into this small section behind the Nationals bullpen that I was in, and it which grabbed my attention of course.
It turned out Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and his family had tickets in this same small section!
The security was so enormous that it was honestly somewhat scary, especially with the undercovers.
My actual seat – Section 138, Row V, Seat 22 – Would have put me directly behind the Hegseth.
However, I was prevented from going there by the Secret Service. And to be clear, I am not complaining.
I tried to even go to my seat and the Secret Service wouldn’t even respond. They just looked at me and I knew it wasn’t the hill to die on. It was some serious stuff but super cool!
The best I could do video-wise is what is above. I will share more from this work trip soon as it does tie directly to Southeast Indiana!
