Vacation goals

  1. So when Golfingeverygoddamweekendonthetaxpayerdime J. Trump was howling about how “everybody needs to get back into the office and get back to work”, he didn’t mean Congress?

  2. I get it, I get the joke, I get the critique, I really do.

However, recess from Congress is when Congress is supposed to actually come home to the state they live in and represent and talk to people about what they want done in DC. It’s not supposed to just be a 2-month long vacation but rather a vital part of their congressional duties. I would be pretty mad if my Congressional rep was in DC 365 days a year for their entire term, since half their job is back here in my state.

  3. How can the good people of the USA put up with this much bullshit?

  4. Its a part time job.
Remember this when they give themselves their next raise

  5. They were so excited for a conservative trifecta government because they would finally have the power to set everything right, now they are taking an extra month off in the middle of the first year? Must already have finished everything they set out to do.

What all have they passed again? Oh, just tax cuts for the rich again huh? Well isn’t that completely on brand…

  6. You can tell who’s making the rules
Oh and “no one wants to work these days!”

  7. They need to give you time to forget about Epstein

  8. A 2 month recess right before a pivotal matter was to be voted on. It’d be like being in retail on October 28th with Black Friday and Christmas coming up and just going, “Okay, see y’all in January!”

  9. Well, they’ve already done so much recently to address our country’s problems before taking an extended break to avoid having to vote on anything Epstein related.

You know, like a proposal to rename the Kennedy Center after Melania Trump.

Or stricter immigration measures that are deliberately meant to sidestep due process and violate human rights.

“Hidden provisions” that put up barriers to oversight, like restrictions on Inspectors general and the authority of the Government Accountability Office.

Then there’s the defunding of the Election Assistance Commission—so much for “securing the integrity of our elections.” Not to mention more restrictions on voter outreach and mail in ballots.

    And that’s just recently.

This little extended vacation came as Democrats were trying to force a vote on releasing Epstein related documents.

So ya, it’s clear what their priorities are and where their party’s loyalties lie.

  10. Gotta give the DOJ time to shred the Epstein files.

  11. They should have 2 months of UNPAID leave vacation!

  12. In the UK, MP’s started their Recess yesterday.

    they return on 1st September.

Then they are off for ‘Conference Recess’ on 16th September until they finally return on 13th October

It’s a hard job being an MP.
