From Regent's Park & Hyde Park in the foreground, all the way out to the Thames Estuary, possibly even Southend on the north bank, and a long way into Kent. Hard to tell precisely.

I've punched the hell out of it in Photoshop to crisp it up as much as possible – but I wish I'd had my proper camera, not just my phone. It really needed a higher resolution.

Flying in from Portugal to Luton. I don't think I've ever flown straight south-north over London like this before, and I've never seen it so clear.

  1. Despite what OP said about the picture quality, I still think it’s crazy how you can get a sufficiently clear image on a phone that I can make out my old flat.

  2. I can see my house from here! (Or at least the smudged blurry pixel of it.)

    Gorgeous photo.
