Nice chunk of annual leave coming up. A lot of social/productive things planned.
….. Sick
Factorio and er, more Factorio
Washing on the line roulette
Had Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, along with FIFA 98 and Porsche Challenge. Throwback!
Second run on BG3
Now I have the Crash music in my head
OSRS
Played around with Cyberpunk 2077, mostly to just see the photo-mode updates, but ended up playing for a few hours
Also a bit of World of Warcraft and a bit of Final Fantasy XIV
Used to love a bit of crash bandicoot on the PS1, but I used to mainly play tomb raider 1, 2 3, and revelations.
Now my go-to game to chill out with is the Elder scrolls v: Skyrim, and it’s many mods! I’ll probably be retired by the time the next elder scrolls comes out
Balatro and I also replayed MGS3 with a no alerts, kills and Tsuchinoko run in one, which made me remember how good games are with autosave. I also replayed MGS2 yesterday and rather enjoyed it.
My Steamdeck arrives today so FM24 and Civ 6 on the go!
I’m still very deep in Fantasy Life and having a lovely little time.
Still on Alone in the Dark and Spider-Man 2. I’m really thinking of investing in a PS Portal, even just for the Train Sim and games that don’t use too much processor power.
Omg I was addicted to Crash Bandicoot 😳
Weirdly, railroad tycoon 3 and surviving mars.
Played a bit of Peak with the kids. It’s a great game, lots of laughs and pretty cheap. Also, working my way through all of the maps on Timberborn.
I’ve been playing REPO but a modded version. It’s been hilarious.
Elite dangerous! Love doing some relaxing space trucking runs after work
Crash Bandicoot peaked with Warped, but any of the first 3 are great. I actually bought Crash Team Racing yesterday as my wife has been playing a little bit on the PS5 so figured I’d find a two player game.
I’m still playing **Clair Obscur: Expedition 33** and it is hard to put into words just how much I am enjoying it.
Startopia (2001)
It doesn’t work under Windows any more, but it does ok in wine under Linux.
Picked up Donkey Kong Bananza last week, and it has been a blast to play.
Also been hooked on Crime Scene Cleaner. I wish IRL cleaning was this fun and easy.
Finally got around to Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 after worrying for ages that it would be a massive game that would be a slog to finish. In reality it’s one of the most blessed games I’ve ever played and I’ve enjoyed every minute. The quality and attention to detail is off the scale. Definitely my game of the year contender and there have been some very solid games this year.
I turned my PC on for the first time in a couple of months. All the games I wanted to play have a higher than 10gb download waiting and I don’t have the speeds or the desire for that right now 🙁
Kaiserreich, AKA the GOAT of game mods. What a fantastic thing to provide completely for free.
Here’s a really obscure one, a blast from the past. The Asylum: Psychiatric Clinic for Abused Cuddly Toys. Just remembered it a few days ago, played it maybe 13-14 years ago originally. As the name implies you are a psychiatrist who must identify symptoms, diagnose your patients, and then attempt to resolve some of their deep-seated traumas, all for these cute cuddly animal toys. Sly the rattlesnake that’s missing his rattle being easily my favourite, his movements are really creative.
Age of Empires 2 with my 15 year old. Usually he turns his nose up at “old” games but I think he’s secretly been enjoying it. We’re both as crap as each other mind. Also Red Alert 2. Considering installing Total Annihilation too but that’s maybe for next week.
**Captain of Industry** again.
I did pickup **Stormworks** on a whim though. Thought it would be a Lego-eque thing, wasn’t expecting a full blown mechanical and logic-coding system. Rather enjoying it though.
Crash Bandicoot is legendary game, I loved playing that on PlayStation, brings back memories especially it being a simpler time (in my eyes at least).
Well I plan to do some side missions on Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and/or Spider-Man 2 on PS5, if I get some time this week.
I’ve been reading Ben MacIntyre’s Colditz book so I emulated Prisoner of War, the PS2 stealth game from 2002.
I remembered struggling with it as a kid but fuck me I realise why it was so tricky now. The FOV is about 2, which tbf is clearly a sporting advantage as the Nazis all have view cones about an inch wide. I realise most of their guard population was not made up of the brightest and best of German society but I’m reasonably sure they weren’t all literally blind.
Moreover though, the camera is an absolute brat. It’ll resolutely refuse to do what you need it to. Need it to turn to show you whether that searchlight is going to go past you or light you up like Blackpool seafront? Hope you like looking at the finest wood hut texture 2002 can offer.
So yeah – as it turns out, the camera is quite a big bit of how and why a stealth game is actually good or not.
About to reach the end of RDR1
Week off. Started playing *Clair Obsur: Expedition 33.* 25hrs over three days. Not generally into ‘hype’, but…yeah, this game is pretty special.
My only regret is the temperature of my laptop during some sections. Even on low graphics, surprised at how it’s running during the open world or any particle-heavy setting. Probably says something about the rest of the game that I’m happy ploughing through on low FPS. Look forward to replaying one day on a better rig.
Started replaying MGS5 this week which I haven’t touched since I first finished it back in 2015. I’ve always loved the game despite its flaws, but the one that always gets me is there’s all of these different weapons you can develop but I always end up using the few non-lethal variants that are available, as it feels like the game pushes you away from lethal eliminations.
Also it was funny reminding myself how temperamental walking on some of the terrain was. Sometimes you’d get stuck on a small rock, you’d slide down the tiniest hill, you couldn’t climb up something that looked easily climbable. How they went from that, to making a game where the gameplay was almost entirely about walking (and it was somehow fun) is quite impressive.
Abiotic Factor released in 1.0 last night and friends are having a blast being back on it after so many months. The game really is a masterpiece and about to hit over 100hrs without the story being done yet.
Puddipugah. Damn i looked playing crash. I tried again as an adult and it was too difficult 🙃
I’ve been playing heavy rain 🌧
Call of Duty WW2, it’s badly scripted and feels like I’m playing a game from 2005. I wouldn’t buy it.
But it’s on Gamepass so I thought I’d play my first COD since MW2
I have had the crash bandicoot theme stuck in my head for like a week straight .. now i saw this and it starts all back up again
Another Code Recollection for the Switch. Always wanted to play the DS version so I picked up the remake. You’ve got your mystery, you’ve got puzzles.
WE NEED CRASH BASH REMASTERED PLZZ
I’d love to play this with friends and family that come over, on the PS5
Finished Yakuza 5 last week, longest in the series so far, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I can see why it’s not to some people’s tastes, but I love the wholesomeness of the story. Haruka is the best handled child character in video games, and I would die for her. Fight me.
…on which note, I’ve moved onto Yakuza 6, and it just got real. No idea where the story’s gonna go, but with the way the game was billed as the end to Kiryu’s story, I have some ideas (though the existence of man who erased his name suggests otherwise).
Continuing with my FC25 manager career, in the championship with a custom club that I started in league 2, with a team formed entirely of youth players that have come through the academy.
I also finished Clair Obscur over the weekend. I enjoyed it overall, but felt myself burning out once I got towards the end of the game, so I pushed to get it done before I lost the will to come back. Some of the optional fights get very difficult in the end.
Still chipping away at Fantasy Life i, I’m about 6 days away from the 50 golden flowers I need. I’ve outfitted most of my characters using expert level recipes now, so I’m doing treasure groves to try and build up a stock of materials. Need to find time to master the lives, but since I tend to watch things while grinding the game I’ve not got around to it yet, since I know you get the master songs when you get there.
Also been playing a little THPS 3+4, loved the games as a kid so it’s just fun to have a run here and there.
Replaying grounded after I found out the sequel is due… I forgot how hard it is as a solo lol. Had to drop down to mild, at least in the early game. Will see later if I can boost it to mid again. Looking forwards to building a skyscraper base, if I don’t get bored again that is…
Lego Marvel Superheroes, by myself. Cuphead, with the Boy.
OG crash was great… but warped was truly a PS1 highpoint right?
I’ve started a new No Man’s Sky playthrough.
Still playing Death Stranding 2 and loving it. Was a huge fan of the first game and the second is just great
Upgraded my CPU and motherboard and it kept restarting when launching The Witcher 3, so that’s been stressing me out this week. Turns out I needed a new PSU
