  1. Summary is on June 27th, Colbert’s manager was told the show is cancelled, waited till he came back from vacation to tell him.

James Dixon also reps Kimmel and Jon Stewart. Now that CBS was the first to pull the trigger on cancelling the still #1 show in late night, the fear in hollywood is its just a matter of when everyone else gets cancelled or severe budget cuts.

  2. Not ideal Manager behavior or maybe he wanted Colbert to enjoy vacation?

  3. There’s no way that Tracker reruns, or some shit, will right the economic…track…that Colbert’s time slot holds currently.

WAY too many managers with no clue how things are done, and not enough creative visionary types at the top.

That goes for both places. This crappy merger conglomerate, and Dumbass Don.

  4. Reminds me of a recurring sketch from The State.

Does anyone remember the MTV sketch show, The State? Thomas Lennon played James Dixon (not sure if it’s based on the same person. lol).

James Dixon is a conniving, hard-driving ex-[Hollywood](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_the_United_States) agent who lands himself very unlikely careers (high school guidance counselor, [Catholic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic) priest, [Jedi](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jedi) talent agent) and applies his showbiz tactics to his new positions. “You can’t bargain with God. But you can bargain with me, and I can bargain with God.” According to DVD commentaries, the character was based on the group’s agent, James Dixon.

Appearances: 107: “James Dixon: Guidance Counselor”, 201: “James Dixon: Power Priest”, 313: “Dixon: Jedi Talent Agency”

  5. Still not buying it. I believe it was a stipulation to enhance merger approval.

  6. Who’s gonna start the petition to cancel this shit now, who fucking cares.

  7. Was he supposed to stay untill he is 90 years old ?
The more i hear the more I don’t care anymore.
Shows are canceled all the time,

  8. Shifting demographics and viewing habits. johnny carson used to be the go media spin doctor , it has since Lost alot of value to advertisers.

  9. As a Brit I don’t really get late night tv. Are people really watching tv at 11:35 at night? On a week day? Regularly. Literally nothing good happens on British tv after that time. Never has. I get how there’s catch up but it seems amazing this is a prime tv slot.

  10. Time slot not matter anymore. Internet will push story 24/7 by nature of its very being.

  11. I havent watched any late night shows since Craig Ferguson and Conan.

  12. I genuinely think that The Adam Friedland Show is proof that the talk show host format is not dying. It’s on the studios for failing to convey conversations that are solely dictated by profits and losses. As soon as someone like Colbert has a platform that puts the studio at risk it’s easier for them to say no.

  13. Bring back the Report and I’ll watch it every day

  14. I watch Jimmy Kimmel live every single weekday night to go to bed. If they take that away from me I will complain online and drink to exces.

  15. Any of you who don’t understand why he didn’t tell him are killing me rn, absolutely nothing would have changed if he told him except he would think about that nonstop the whole vacation I think he made the right call
