Anti-corruption raids on prominent Ukrainian figures and moves to favour loyalists in senior positions have led to accusations that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s government is sliding into authoritarianism.
Zelenskyy and his top aides face allegations from politicians, activists and diplomats that they are using extraordinary powers granted under martial law to sideline critics, muzzle civil society leaders and consolidate control.

This has been great situation to putler use as propaganda (misinformation). People need to look at the bigger picture here.
Exactly what the ruZZians wanted
Zelensky things those anti-corruption bodies are heavily infiltrated by the russians. Whether it’s true or paranoia, he took control of them, saying he will continue attacking corruption, but without russian influence.
Maybe I’m wrong, but the optics appear bad, while the results may actually be better. Of course, one must trust Zelensky in this case. I feel that I do trust him.
Not only that, but the vote to do this was basically a landslide, and he just signed it into law. It’s not like he did this without the approval of his government.
Ah yes, I know I associate the US with a lack of corruption….
The US is the most dangerous and interfering foreign global power of the 20th and 21st centuries, bar none. While it might be alarming to people from the US when other nations disband their influential organisations, those of us who live in other countries are probably a lot more sympathetic.
Any US-backed group is a threat to other countries’ sovereignties and democracies. I don’t buy that oligarchic influence is better than whatever problems Ukraine may have to deal with on her own.
