1. Thailand has closed its entire border with Cambodia as the two countries exchanged fire in a disputed frontier area, with 11 civilians killed.

   Cambodian troops aimed rockets while Thailand carried out air strikes across the border after soldiers started firing at each other.

   Both sides accused each other of firing first in the contested area known as the Emerald Triangle. Cambodia has urged the UN security council to intervene
