Given Starmer’s rush to drag his centre party to the right in search of Reform voters, this party is more just plain old regular left than “hard-left”, but Telegrift gotta make it sound scarier than it is, I suppose.
Doubt this party’ll do anything.
Corbyn: People shouldn’t die of hunger and the UK shouldn’t be participating in the Gaza genocide.
UK media: HARD-LEFT
Typical. They have to do some fearmongering somehow.
“Hard left” lol
Why does the media always frame human rights, anti-genocide, and taking care of the most vulnerable as hard left ideologies? Apparently being a decent human being is extremism.
Wish this would happen with the left party in Canada (the NDP) but looks like they want their own Stamer here. Someone pliable to Israeli lobby and sicophantic, or at least wanting to preserve at any cost, the relationship to the US.
It’s very telling how far right the discourse has been dragged, when “hard left” is being applied to what is at the end of the day, a social democratic political party with moderate policies (universal healthcare, public ownership of utilities, a peaceful foreign policy).
Hooray. About bloody time. But “Hard Left”? Really? That’s a daft description. It’s just to represent the Left. It’s a party on the *Left*. That’s what’s missing, and just what this new party will provide. The current choice for voters is Loony Right, Hard Right, Died-in-the-wool Right, Quite Right, Rather Right, and Soft but Genocidally Right.
