… and everyone I interacted with was lovely!\
Of course they fixed me up, but everyone I spoke to, from triage nurses to doctors was so polite and kind! I swear I’ve stayed at luxury hotels where the staff wasn’t as polite and warm.\
If anyone reading this works in healthcare, a big thank you! Your kindness is highly appreciated!!

  1. I have to agree. I’ve had many interactions, visits and surgeries in Norway over the past 20 years and almost all have been stellar experiences wrt to the healthcare professionals except a few asshat old doctors that had their heads inserted way too far up their ass to hear what I was telling them until I shouted. 😉

  2. Im not sure where youre from, but Ill never forget when we had an american nurse working for us a summer. After a few days she asked me, dead serious: “Youre… youre so nice to all the patients? How come?”

Well, most importantly the Norwegian healthcare system is not ran as a private business.

  3. Happy to hear you were treated well!

Personally I never wanna go to the Legevakt in Oslo, as I don’t know which one I went to the first and only time I was there, and they almost killed me by being negligent 😂

  4. Norwegian healthcare is great for Emergency/intensive care unit…but horrible for diagnostics. I had to wait 3months for an MRI. 9 months for a sleep study which didn’t correctly diagnose my sleep apnea.

First you have to convince your GP that you need a specialist..and then wait listed for many months.

My grandfather already had late stage cancer before it was diagnosed.

I have international health insurance and I go abroad for medical issues.
