Fascinating medieval Hämeenlinna in Finland [OC]

  2. Taking photos of Hämeenlinna and include some photos of vr trains and not Aulanko at all should be criminal.

  4. I pretty much say that Hämeenlinna is doing their history lip service.

    They have a fking medieval castle and they just sit on it. It used to be a prison up to the 90s, well, I guess they thought it’s too much hassle to tear it down I guess?

    I know Tavastians are slow, but bruh.

    Compare this to Riga or Tallinn.

    I would make the city center ‘old town’ and tear down any 70s element blocks (they are molded anyhow, considering how bad they have been with the maintenance). Make beautiful old style wooden houses and brick houses. Advertise an hour train from Helsinki and Tampere. Make visits to Lepaa.

    There’s so much potential under-utilized that it should be a crime.
