Surely this was a typo, right?

  1. Yeah, I just checked on littering.lu, they meant to say “11 billion cigarettes are thrown on the ground everyday” with “40% of all cigarettes butts thrown on the ground end up in our oceans”.

11 for sure seemed too little 😉

  2. 11 sounds like not much, until you go infront of your house and notice they are all there.

  3. And so I want to ask, why do cigarette smokers in particular throw their cigarette butts on the ground? I am pretty sure there are a lot of garbage cans around the country. And I mean, if you are truly in a hurry, one of my suggestions is to carry little ziplock bags to put them in and a small spray bottle to extinguish them.

I know it may sound like too much effort and I guess I am quite particular about these types of things, but it is an option.

(By the way, I don’t smoke cigarettes, I don’t like the smell.)
