Walking along the beach in Howth today, and saw these things. Couldn't tell if they're old parts of a boat washed ashore, or whether they were originally part of something on land. Anyone any idea? The kids were hoping they were parts of a shipwreck. They've been there a while, by the looks of all the attacked sea life…ps football is for scale.

  1. I think there’s a wreck around there on the charts, you might be looking at the top of the mast?

  2. Yea we got a bit tipsy, sorry about that whatever it is.

  3. On Claremont Beach? It’s the wreck of an old trawler. From the 50s or 60s. It’s exposed like that at very low tides.

  4. First one seems to be a crossbow used by an old Irish metal giant, years and years ago, and the second one seems to be a part of his spine, which unfortunately implies that he was unsuccessful in battle..

He’ll be back in 5Mins, gone to get change for the meter.

  6. It’s made they just left it there all these years.
I’m unreasonably annoyed you didn’t take more pictures of it. Especially the screwy looking turbo part
