Residents are invited to participate in the development of the digital platform”IRoM” that will automatically collect up-to-date data on the condition of roads in Latvia, the developer ZZ Dats said in a release.

“The project aims to create a modern and easily customisable digital platform that will help road maintainers to plan and carry out their maintenance work more efficiently throughout the year. The platform will use artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to spot and analyse problems such as potholes, cracks, overgrown or poorly visible road signs in good time, as well as identify other road maintenance needs.

“The information gathered automatically will help to make informed and quick decisions and provide transparent information on the use of resources. This will reduce the response time of the professionals responsible, ensure safer driving conditions for road users and more efficient use of maintenance resources in all seasons,” said Edžus Žeiris, Director of ZZ Dats.

ZZ Dats also invites citizens to get involved in the development of this solution by sending photos of various road defects to the e-mail address “[email protected]“. The photos will be used to train artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of road maintenance in Latvia in the future.

ZZ Dats Ltd is a Latvian IT company with local capital and 260 professionals. The company develops web-based solutions and electronic services for Latvian and foreign markets, with a focus on the digitisation of business processes, system security, quality and user experience.
