Publisher Electronic Arts and developers Battlefield Studios have released the first trailer for Battlefield 6. It reveals that the main antagonists in the new installment will be the mercenaries of the Pax Armata PMC, which is supported by former NATO countries, including France. Players are reacting to the announcement with restraint.

The cinematic trailer begins with a fictional president addressing the American people after a «horrific unprovoked attack» by Pax Armata, proving that «no country will escape their influence.» During his speech, we are shown footage of American landmarks transformed into battlefields.

The trailer did not show any gameplay, and the multiplayer presentation is scheduled for July 31. Previously, many videos of the game testing in Battlefield Labs appeared on social networks, and fans of the series are cautiously optimistic.

However, after a series of failures in recent Battlefield installments, many players reacted to the announcement with skepticism, writes The Gamer.

«Sorry, I’m not into cinematic trailers without gameplay anymore,» one Reddit user noted. Another commenter noted that the Battlefield 2045 cinematic trailer also featured a lot of spectacular explosions, but the final product fell short of marketing expectations.

Ukrainian players were skeptical that the developers of Battlefield 6 decided to show in the project essentially a civil war in the NATO bloc, when in the real world, Russia and China pose a major threat to global security.

«NATO is expected to be attacked by private military units and separatists, but never by specific countries, the most cyclical and hypocritical sh*t of the last ten years,» noted one of the Ukrainian users of X (Twitter) with the nickname max_rova.

When will Battlefield 6 be released?

Although the developers did not officially announce the release date of the project, attentive players found information that the release may take place after October 10.

The Battlefield 6 trailer ends with the date of the upcoming multiplayer reveal, which will take place on July 31. The final shot includes a disclaimer that the game contains in-game purchases.
