  1. > The letter is being organised by the Labour backbencher Sarah Champion, who also sits as the International Development Committee Chair.

I think we know who’s getting a visit from the Chief Whip next!!

  2. Of course we have MPs who want to reward Hamas for tanking another round of ceasefire negotiations.

It’s beyond sad that our elected officials waste their time with this, rather than looking after the UK.

  3. Uh oh! The public are talking about jobs/inflation/public services AGAIN.

    Best role out the distractions!

We used ‘migrant rape gangs’ yesterday. Let’s go with ‘Palestine’ today.

If that doesn’t work, can we persuade Trump to visit? That’s a solid 48 hours worth there.

    Hey, politicians/media/terminally online – people’s true priorities:

    1) economy
    2) law and order

    ….

    999) Palestine

  4. Would be nice to see more ‘cross-party’ demands for issues in the UK…..

  5. I reckon he has no intention of doing it and is now stuck between Macron and Trump.

  6. What borders would this state have? Who forms their government? If Hamas, by their own standards, recognising the state would be illegal.

This is not a serious thought, and like so much of the discourse around the Israeli-Palestine conflict, is not grounded in reality.

    A) Is there anything we can do to actually reduce the suffering of those involved? Short of dismantling the IDF, no.
    B) Is this important to our own security and prosperity at home? Not really.

The country is lurching towards bankruptcy, our services are insolvent, and pension spending will grow so large that within five years it will swallow the sun while only four people remain working in the entire country. This is not a problem that should be occupying vast swathes of our national conversation. Our contribution should be to arrange aid, feed the hungry, shelter those with nowhere to stay, and tell the Israelis to come to some kind of finish (which they can’t because the second they do, Netanyahu is in court).

  7. This will solve none of Gaza’s immediate problems and Netanyahu will just say we’re a bunch of anti-Semites (his go to response for anyone who disagrees with his destruction of Gaza). Besides, Starmer has to keep appeasing Trump so he doesn’t stick some tariffs on us again.

  8. If we did that then we would not be able to sell weapons to the Israelis. Starmer wants that more than he wants peace in the area.

  9. “over 100 MPs” for anyone else curious what constitutes “mass” to the headline writers. So Starmer can still comfortably ignore them
