Just wondering if I can grill here tomorrow, in Uusimaa as there is a Yellow Fire Warning.

The only information really is here

but "Can sparks make it spread?" seems unlikely right?

It is an open fire.
(I would probably currently not make any kind of fire, even with wind protected walls and bells and whistles. The ground is extremely flammable at the moment)
edit: actually there seems to be a bit mixing information what is regarded as an open fire, found this image: [metsapalovaroitus.png (1080×1080)](https://kaukokaipuumatkablogi.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/metsapalovaroitus.png) and that would suggest that place is ok. I would not risk it tho.
As it is not wind protected, it is considered an open fire.
Not grilling tomorrow.
…where did you find this dump at? 😀 somehow it simultaneously manages to look well-kept and abandoned. well done.
Not considered as an open fire. It’s wind protected from all sides (fire is below sides) and it’s insulated from ground.

Edit: I love how I’m getting downvoted by how open fire is defined in Finnish law.
I cant believe anyone is even considering starting a fire in a place thats not walled in with 0 risk of sparks flying to the treeline.
It’s hot af and dry as all hell, this is how fires start.
Common sense is not to common sadly.
Well me a city girl would say no but I showed my mom and she camps a lot and she said that as long as it’s no wind and you have bucket of water (she usually camps close to open water, and she wets the ground properly with water in case of sparks) then she might do it but not otherwise with the warnings in effect..
She definitely knows what she is doing. She camps all year around. But if you don’t have the experience (like me) then please don’t.. wild fires takes minutes if not seconds to become a huge problem.
Better safe then sorry!
Like others have said, better not to make any kind of fire on the open fireplaces right now.
Just to be safe, have an extinguisher at arm’s length.
Yes you can grill it. It is isolated from ground and it has this hood. I mean city wouldn’t build grilling places that are not usable. However sparks can still spread.
It’s not an open fire. It has a chimney that naturally drags the heat into one direction vs to all directions. Plus there is the fire “bowl” protecting the ground.
Obviously also closed fire places can start fires…

Bonus points if you manage to get a fire started with ferro rod
Seems super unclear, half folks say yes half says no 🙂
Ill call the fire department! Cheers for the insight.
Not a recommendation, but if instead of wood you burn “briketti” typically it does not produce sparkles.
Nice ghetto, i would put fire on that place.
Looks more like dumpster fire. /s
Theres a place made from bricks in the middle of our backyard and my landlord said we can BBQ there. According to these comments it should be considered as open fire but idk we grill there time to time and no complains yet. 🙃
rare vuosaari moment on r/finland, i honestly dunno about the fire safety but i hope you have fun if you decide to go! XD
Can’t think of anything better in 30c than standing next to a grill.
