  1. I wonder if he gets hate mail mistakenly directed to him instead of Weinstein

  2. He lives in my hometown and is the nicest man. He’s always around town with his dogs.

  3. Do grown ups still have role models? It’s been like 30 years since I’ve seriously looked up to anybody. Once you figure out that your parents are fallible and imperfect and don’t have it all figured out, doesn’t it stand to reason that nobody else does either? Outside of fictional characters, like Jesus and Bandit Heeler, I expect everyone to be flawed. You can still learn a lot from the positives and negatives of those flawed people, but why should you look up to them?

  4. >“I am not an incredibly prejudiced person but, when it comes to heterosexual men, I don’t get them. They’re a bunch of assholes. There are so few heterosexual men that I know that I look up to. You can’t count on them for anything other than their own self-interest. There are some good ones – I mean, I’m not that prejudiced – but if we took all the heterosexual men out of Congress for two years and see what happens … or the ones who pretend to be heterosexual.”

Relevant quote. It’s weird how any time somebody says “I’m not prejudiced, but…” the next part is super prejudiced.

  5. In other words “everyone who isn’t like me is bad”.

Where have I heard that sentiment before?

  6. Could you imagine if a straight actor said homosexual men are a “bunch of assholes”?

  7. Misread as Weinstein. Nobody to look up to himself. But it was Fierstein. Yes sir, it’s a damn shame

  8. He’s 73 years old. Not that many cognitive men to look up to at his age

  9. Even as a hetero guy, same. Granted, I actively avoid putting people on pedestals.

  10. holy fuck this comment section is just a prime example of exactly what he was talking about

    absolute cesspool

  11. Haha.. Al those people getting buttthurt (no pun intended).

He has a point though doesn’t he.. As a straight, white, cis male (that’s how you call it right?),I don’t get a lot of discrimination. But I do know that I’m attracted to women, and I can’t tell you why.. It just happens to be so..

So imagine that I live in a world where me being attracted to women is being seen as something unnatural for ages. People have fought for the rights of me… Wich is bizar in its own way.. I didn’t choose to be attracted to women, it just happened to be so! And then some twat comes along and is destroying all those rights… And the big majority just sits and watches it happen. Where are your balls?

I find it insultingly stupid to a) be fascinated by what other people’s love life looks like, b) destroy their rights, c) tell other people how they should do things and d) be so fucking indifferent to human rights when they dont involve you… That’s just weirdly stupid.

  12. It’s been a while since I seen Harvey….sans the facial hair I didn’t recognize him.

  13. Lol at all the shocked and enraged straight men in this thread.

  14. Its really hard to find someone to look up to when many icons also hold such terrible and dehumanizing beliefs.

  15. I recently found out that Harvey Fierstein makes really beautiful, intricate, colorful quilts. His ig is pretty cool.

  16. Yeah try growing up straight. I got no heroes I actually know.
