The Federal Reserve has responded to US President Donald Trump’s recent visit and comments on its ongoing renovation work, saying it appreciates his encouragement and remains committed to completing the project.

The comments came a day after Trump made an unusual visit to the Fed’s headquarters, where he questioned the need for the renovation of its two historic buildings.
