Switzerland is becoming an etatist country. Reddit lefties find that cool, I don’t.
It’s sad, I’m a happy proton user and this will not change that. But IMO in the long term, the EU will be worse than Switzerland in this kind of matter. At least in our country we can decide…
As a long time Proton user, it’s understandable and sad at the same time
“into the EU proper” — are they implying Switzerland is still some semi-EU territory?
Good I want online privacy not China style mass surveilance. Fuck the Bundesrat the most inconvenient part of our government
I get it, but it’s incredibly short-sighted. What the Bundesrat is doing, first of all, has not been decided yet, and second of all, the EU is worse.
There are constant attempts to break Internet encryption, or attempts at chat control, or at mass surveillance. In Switzerland, with an initiative or a referendum, we can prevent it.
What the CEO is doing is incredibly short-sighted. In the long run, Switzerland will be better off in terms of privacy. Even if, in the short run, we may have some setbacks.
A failure of the cherished direct democracy. Yeah vote on that when your unelected federal council does some shady stuff behind your backs…
Bullshit decision, just marketing move, we still have the key on our hands. Why tf they leave CH. I mean, no matter what will be the final outcome of the new laws, as soon as we have the key, everything is ok. As a from beginning proton user, I am really sad about this wtf decision.
Mass surveillance and Switzerland in the same sentence?
What a time to be alive.
Rip
I know that Beat Jans has gone completely nuts over this. Do we know what are the official positions of Swiss parties over this?
Hell yeah more jobless high-tech workers. As if we didnt already had enough problems
