A German child has died after falling from a water slide at a water park in Lopar, on the island of Rab, Croatian police have announced.
The accident allegedly occurred when the girl, aged one year and nine months, slipped from her father’s hands and fell from a great height onto a concrete surface.
Police announced that the child was immediately transported by emergency medical helicopter from Rabi to the Rijeka Hospital Clinical Center, but unfortunately died due to his injuries, reports index.hr.
It is still unclear whether the slide was built and marked for use under the supervision of a child, and whether all safety protocols were followed.
Witnesses on the beach watched in shock, and among the first to rush to help were two tourists from the Czech Republic.
Otherwise, Croatian authorities have already begun investigations and will soon come up with the first analyses. /Telegraph/
