  1. No nuclear because you’re afraid, no wind because they’re ugly, no gas/coal because they pollute, where do you want electricity to come from?!

  2. Looks like the “windmills of shame” have a new fight, this time in Switzerland.

  3. The Association for the Protection of Nature and Democracy and definitely not a fossil fuel lobby funded abomination is trying to squash a renewable source of energy. I love how their justification is always the most asinine shit imaginable.

One football field of trees is nothing. We lose one football field of Amazon rainforest every six seconds. We build so many windmills in forests because it’s often the only place far enough from any type of human activity that “*could”* be disturbed by them and also where people are less likely to directly block the construction.

I pray for the environment and for our future that this nonsense doesn’t pass.

  4. Stupidity knows no limit. If only we could use it to generate electricity…

  5. Lol; how about we make swiss that vote for this run on treadmills for electricty then?

Electricty is already stupid expensive without people going: “but mah view”

Fossil fuel funded politicians with their stupid ideas.

  6. No nuclear power, with this initiative, they want to limit wind farms… So what now? Import electricity from France/Germany/Norway? This initiative is so stupid.

  7. Oh these stupid NYMBYS! Landscape protectors are a bit like environment protectors, but in dumb.

  8. Hell no. They’re incredible machines and we need as many as we can get.

  9. What is this “Association for the Protection of Nature and Democrac”? I’m assuming it’s a right wing lobbying association but I can’t find anything by that name. The article doesn’t have a german version and I can’t find anything with the english or french name…

  10. Aren’t they just against cutting down forests to do it?
    We could put them elsewhere…

  11. Possibly important heads up if you are against this initiative:

The right wing has been spreading FUD against windmills. Especially among the older population.

The narratives are multifaceted: it‘s bad for nature, ugly, ineffective etc. There are also some conspiracy theories in there.

Don’t take it for granted that this will not come through. I expect it won‘t, but I‘ll be watching this closely and warily.

  12. I not sure we do need more of those. But I certainly want no laws that forbid their construction.
All these Nimby laws got us in this situation where nothing get built, not even housing.
