1. I do like how we’ve got this American-style view that it isn’t possible to be friends with a pedophile unless you’re actively abusing kids with them.

   Presumably Princess Diana was abusing kids with Jimmy Saville?

4. I get the feeling that all these powerful people were compelled to write something in this “birthday” book. There’s no substance to this, it’s just a feeling that came over me as I was reading the article.

9. I remember when Simon Mayo left BBC Radio One, it was many decades ago. Thousands of pop stars said farewell to Simon, it was such a sad time. Yet how many had actually met him or even knew him?? It was a tad embarrassing for all the popsters but they’re just shooting stars jumping on a publicity thing.

11. I think it’s utterly mental Starmer had anything to do with him during the election and gave him a role post election.

    The press had been rehabilitating his image too, I’d frequently see him giving his take on current ongoings.

    It’s worth reminding everyone that Mandelson is one of the rare friends of Epstein that continued to see him after he was initially jailed for noncing. He either thought it was ok, or he just thought it didn’t matter he was mates with the world’s biggest pedo

15. Never forget: Peter Mandelson effectively appointed himself as the UK’s Ambassador to the United States and Keir Starmer had no issue with it.

    This is a man implicated in multiple corruption scandals, whose political career includes resignations from government under disgrace, long-standing ties to Russian oligarchs, and friendships with convicted child abusers, associations he maintained after their convictions.

    And yet, Starmer rewarded him with one of the most high-profile diplomatic roles in British politics.
