  1. Police Constable Zachary Marsden had ‘defied protocol, ethics, procedure and the law’ in the confrontation at the pay station area of Terminal Two at Manchester Airport last July, the jury heard.

    The trial at Liverpool Crown Court has heard PC Marsden – along with PCs Ellie Cook and Lydia Ward – were involved in the fracas with brothers Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and Muhammed Amaad, 26.

  2. I have a feeling they’re going to get off with a suspended, especially after the advice the judge gave the jury.

  3. I suspect they will be given the lightest possible sentence if found guilty, to avoid igniting any community tensions. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get less than 6 months inside or dodge a custodial sentence altogether.

    Oops I forgot that already happened when the mob descended on Rochdale Police Station and got them released. If this was far right or football hooligans then it would be oh so different.

    If you pick a fight with police in a car park, in a street coming out of a pub or a supermarket then they will use pretty reasonable force. If you do it in an airport, you’re lucky to not be shot.

    The only rule you think about in an airport is no fucking about. No joking about a bomb going through baggage, no getting shirty with staff over what you can’t take on a plane, no popping police officers noses when they want to restrain you.

  16. Uncontrolled bully, who started a fight over some words that led to them being arrested, then started a fight with the police, called the police uncontrolled bullies? I don’t want these thugs on the streets THEY are the ones who are the uncontrolled bullies, not the police. Get them jailed

  20. He’s not wrong. The whole incident was that one coppers fault.

    It’s not even all the cops. It’s one cop in particular that causes this. He pushes the guys head into the ticket machine, he starts throwing punches first and instigates the violence, he kicks a guys head on the floor and then try’s to stamp on his head again.

    It’s all the same guy, the other two were perfectly professional and have been put in danger by him. He was no way in control of his actions.

    This is a story everybody is following and with what’s currently going on (which is a hell of a lot) I hate to say but I don’t think we’ve ever been closer to a civil war in recent years.

  24. They’ll be found guilty, but the usual two tier sentencing will apply and they’ll be laughing back home with a suspended sentence by the afternoon…

  26. I mean, he’s kind of got a point – I’ve watched the footage and Mr PC wanna be footballer is the one that came in hot on the arrest and escalated the situation by aggressively pushing his head down. I.e the point where shit started kicking off.

    The defendant is an absolute piece of shit, but, the police dude is a violent thug too.

    The fact that he got away with kicking a guy in the head, and then trying to stamp on his head is disgusting. They both deserve to be on trial.

  28. I believe that thugs shouldn’t fight police.

    I also believe that the police’s job is to arrest people, not to punish them with kicks to the head. There’s no justice in that.

  30. In 1989 my idiot mate who liked to get violent after being on the drink had a fight with a copper. He also punched a female
    Cop in the face. A riot van pulled up he was dragged inside and given the following. A broken arm, broken jaw, all his fingers broken and his face bashed to a pulp. Nowadays what you get a slap on the wrist. Those grubs should be put away for ten years.
