“Speaking after his death, Ms Bokassa said Kelyan had been groomed by gangs from the age of six, and she was not surprised when she found out he was dead.
Ms Bokassa added she had tried to stop him from associating with gangs but did not get support from authorities.”
No sense of responsibility. In what world can a six year old be groomed by adult gang members – only the world where you’re truly a neglectful parent, of course.
Lack of proper parenting, terrible education all equal to this, lads. Don’t just pop out kids out of your hole and release them or else they’ll wind up to be like these no brains.
once convicted, they should be named even if minors
>Ms Bokassa said Kelyan had been groomed by gangs from the age of six
We’re going to keep seeing this again and again and again until the government actually gives the police the resources to deal with organised crime, those boys are at the bottom of a very very large pyramid. We know from ex undercover police that have gone on record to say corruption is rife in the force, the judicial system and government. So until a Prime Minister actually has the balls to go after the King Pins, who let’s be honest have so much power they’re practically untouchable, articles like this will always be part of life.

From the BBC article:
> Aspiring rapper
<insert GTA San Andreas opening line from CJ here>
> Kelyan had boarded the 472 bus just after 14:00 GMT to attend an appointment at the Youth Justice Centre in Woolwich […] with a small kitchen knife in the waistband of his trousers.
Really? He was going to what is basically a court – and carrying a knife? He’d be arrested within seconds. I’d also go out on a limb and say he probably wasn’t attending as a witness?
> Ms Heer said: “Kelyan Bokassa had no time to reach for his own knife, which remained in his trousers, and instead tried in vain to protect himself with his school bag.
Dear God.
The entire situation is fucked sideways beyond all belief.
That must involve child neglect surely. Gangs from six years old.. dreadful
Crazy thing is his grandad was the dictator of an african country, how quickly we fall
Their waste of space parents need to be held criminally liable here
>Ms Heer said: “Kelyan Bokassa had no time to reach for his own knife, which remained in his trousers, and instead tried in vain to protect himself with his school bag.
This part from the BBC article got to me. How insane is this sentence? A kid couldn’t reach for his knife in time so he defended himself with his school bag.
>The defendants, now 16, who are too young to be named
If they are old enough to decide who runs the country, why should we still treat them like kids with anonymous protections when they have murdered someone.
Almost let out an audible laugh opening this article at work earlier and reading the ‘aspiring rapper’ part
> The judge said Kelyan’s death was a “senseless loss” of another boy to the “horrors of knife crime”.
Grrr. The problem isn’t knifes, it’s bad people who commit murder.
With 16 year olds being eligible to vote soon it would also be prudent to allow them to be named in cases such as this going forward.
