  1. Greece, a country that fails to run an economy, and adds almost negligible value to NATO warns the second largest military in NATO, and wants to block procurement of something that Germany, the biggest economy and manufacturing hub of EU, has already approved.

Irrelevant people creating irrelevant noise to feel important. Fix your house before trying to voice things that you have no stake in.

  2. I think Greece has all rights to make sure those who are illegally occupying Cyprus from 1974 have troubles getting a single more handgun.

  3. Honestly, it makes sense that Greece is drawing a line. How can you expect trust in a defense alliance when one party still considers war a legal option over territorial disputes?

  4. It’s the Turkish opposition that persuaded Germany to green-light the sale, and thus they have no power to revoke the ‘casus belli’, at least for now.

  5. Yeah, Turkey’s definitely not gonna give up on the Aegean cause of a few planes.

  6. Just a reminder that Turkey still threatens Greece with war in the big 2025 if Greece extends its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles in the Aegean Sea, which Greece has the right to do so according to international law.

And before I hear any comments here about Turkey not signing the Law of the Sea, I must clarify that Turkey has already extended its territorial waters to 12 nm in the Black Sea and in its Mediterranean coast east of Greece, so it clearly applies international law only when it fits them.

  7. Greece sold tankers to Russia, helping them avoid European sanctions. Do they still have any voice in the EU protection scheme?
P.S. Selling Eurofighter to the authoritarian country is also a brilliant idea. They will protect us against Russia. For sure.

  8. No need for Greece’s empty threats. France doesn’t even want the UK to tap into that fund, you think they’ll want Turkish companies to get any money, lol. Turkey can wave 10-15 billions off they ***might*** get from the fund over the years and go for bilateral deals with different European countries.

I see u/1DarkStarryNight is working overtime these days.

  9. I fully support it, Turkey is the only nato member that threatens to attack another ally in the alliance. Over something that Greece has a legal right to do according to international law

  10. If we won’t take Eurofighters that’s open message to us for not being allies with EU. We can get planes from China, and left NATO for good. Or EU can ignore Greece and be responsible about peace.

  11. It’s a tough situation because the EU wants to do everything it can to integrate turkey into Europe, but Erdogan is a dictator who doesn’t subscribe to European values and his country is literally occupying a fellow EU member while threatening another one. They’re selling eurofighters to increase turkish reliance on the EU and use it as a tool for improving connections (and plus if erdogan is defeated, and a liberal president is elected, it’ll speed up EU integration).

  12. First of all, current 6 miles to 6 miles territorial waters is very fair and more than enough. These guys must keep their ultra nationalist expansionist stupid “Megali Idea” fantasies under control. No county would’ve allowed them to turn whole Aegean Sea a greek lake.

This greediness costed them to half of Cyprus. Until 1974, greece and Türkiye had an agreement on neither greece nor Türkiye were not going to make a claim on Cyprus. Turkish and greek cypriots were going to govern themselves. What greeks did? They started to brutally massacring Turkish Cypriot civilians and decided to annex whole Cyprus to make it greece.

In response, Türkiye said “Okay.. Do you want to play like that? Deal!”. Türkiye stepped in and secured half of the island. Same thing will happen if these delusional guys keep pushing their luck over Aegean Sea. Türkiye will take half of whole Aegean islands and they will keep crying another 50 years “tHeY aRe oCcuPiErSsSs 😭”.

Finally and realistically nobody gives a fxck what greece thinks or wants at this point since we’re getting more and more closer to a world war and greece is a whiney, little country that has nothing to offer to our alliance but keep throwing tantrum like a 5 years old over Turks 24/7.

  13. Tbh. Greece makes sense in doing this, we have enough problems in europe as is, but that doesn’t mean you can’t protect your own lands. Greece and Turkey historically have a lot to fight about, but I wish both of them could get past their history and focus on thw now.

From the small nation of Finland, I’d be proud to be able to truly to call both of them my brothers, cause that’s what we are.

  14. Like greeks has right to have opinion without gemany…

  15. Spoiled child of europe: “i wont let you in the defence alliance if you modernize your airforce”

    Make it make sense.

  16. For Christ Sake people. Shut up your insolent argument for once. This whole shit is going on because two old men argue about some shit.

None of us have any authority , power or influence do shit against EU and NATO politics.

So please. Just sit down and relax before talking. No need to be keyboard warriors.
