People will act surprised, why? Bloody Tories never do what’s right, everything they do is to punish the less well off. Laws are changed to contain us, taxes are changed to skint us and so on. If you’re grateful when you receive any benefit from them, then a] you’re a mug and b] they’re mugging you off and you’re grateful
It will be a cold day in hell when a Tory does the right thing. To them we are a hindrance, to be abused to do their menial tasks. They have proved time after time they don’t give a shit, previous Tory government and this current outstandingly disgusting government. They can all go fuck themselves repeatedly up when the sun doesn’t shine (Eton boys love it I’m told)
I pay 11% of my income in NI. I could real unemployment insurance for that. Not to mention what my employer has to pay too.
We are but fags and newbugs to the etonites. They’d have us back in hovels doffing our caps and curtseying if they could.
Many ordinary people backed ‘welfare reform’, as well as austerity of course.
I mean, did they think it wouldn’t apply to them?
They do not want people claiming benefits, they want people desperate enough to do anything to get off them and into work. It does not matter how exploitative or poorly paid the work is, the government want people to be afraid of being out of work and slashing benefits is one way to do that.
Tories have multiple in their party who believe the most vulnerable people should be taken advantage of and to abuse them until they agree. If they want to abuse the disabled and deny them support then it isn’t surprising they’d want to abuse poor people.
JFYI most local government staff are only getting a 2% rise this year. Benefits are still rising faster than the wages of those performing all your services, answering your 999 calls, collecting your bins.
And they worked all the way through the pandemic, haven’t had a pay rise in 2 years, while everyone else was at home doing nothing on a big holiday.
