  1. I’ve seen a quite a few of these around and always wondered how they’re allowed on UK roads with non-standard plates

  2. I mean there are a lot of Arab people in this part of London. Some seem to display their love for certain political figures with these whole rear window sticker things. I have also seen a few there.

  3. Saudi imports. Saudi car culture.

The Arabic text on the car reads:

“حرام تنسـى الدرب وتختار فيـدار خمس إصيافها لندن وباريس وجنيف”

    This roughly translates to:

“It’s a shame to forget the path and choose the fancier life—five summers spent in London, Paris, and Geneva.”

  4. I was on the Eurostar with them both on Wednesday! Group of young lads doing some kind of European road trip. They seemed like they were having a great time.

  5. Very odd.. transporting those to the UK must have cost more than what the cars themselves cost..

  6. Idk about the politics and stuff but aesthetically it’s fucking cool I want to drive these around while blasting Omar Souleyman

  7. Saudi. Writing is along the lines of things like “May God protect our kings and leaders”. These cars are usually used in national celebrations or political displays of loyalty.

It is legal to have Saudi plates if registered abroad.

  8. saw two GT500’s on thursday down the A2 going towards dover on kuwait plates. both decorated like this. one had a picture of some guy on the back. they’re doing some kinda rally judging by the map on the bonnet, they were going to spain next when i saw them

  9. I saw one a couple of years ago round there and it looked like it was dong some kind of loosely organised race/road trip across Europe. London-Paris-Rome or some similar route.

  10. They come every year or every 6 months and they park like they own the place, without permits, blocking the EV chargers and taking reserved spots.

Every single car has a stack of fines on them and they clearly don’t care. It’s incredibly annoying and I wish they were towed away, I was actually planning to contact to the council about that, it’s a horrible behaviour.

  11. This car comes with very special privileges. You can ignore Congestion Charges and ULEZ, park almost anywhere and then disregard the fines, drive in bus lanes and stop in box junctions anytime.

This is a very cheap form of motoring for the upfront cost of a shipping container. Just avoid pulling handbrake turns in front of a police car and all is golden.

  12. It’s crazy cool if they drove all the way from Saudi. Hope they did. Knew people that did similar – motorcycle
From Dubai to Egypt, drive from uae to turkey etc.

  13. Don’t know anything about the car, but there used to be an absolutely fantastic Thai restaurant downstairs at that pub. For the longest time there was no menu in English, only Thai.
