  1. Péter Magyar, the leader of TISZA, gave his speech immediately after Viktor Orbán’s most recent address (this was deliberately scheduled, Magyar mentioned several times this week that it was just a “coincidence”). In perhaps his clearest terms yet, he declared that “Hungary’s place is in the West, in the European Union,” and that “eastern expansion cannot continue,” emphasizing that “it’s time to finally choose a side,” and that the choice is not difficult, because the West is our natural ally.

The event is being held in Székesfehérvár, a larger city outside the capital, in front of a substantial crowd. Over recent weeks, Magyar has also been on a national tour, where he is consistently met with interest even in villages where Fidesz used to be dominant. He visits these places by canoe, motorcycle, bicycle, or on foot as part of an 80-day program.

  2. The event is called “Hungary’s place in Europe and in the world”

    Parts of Magyar’s speech:

According to Magyar, the 2026 election will also be a referendum on Viktor Orbán’s “corrupt power” and on whether Hungary wants to remain a member of NATO and the EU. “The security of Europe and Hungary is at stake here and now,” he said.

“Hungary must finally take its place at the table of the West. Hungary cannot be a country adrift between East and West”

He added that there would be no more commuting between East and West. “Our place is in Europe, it always has been and always will be,” he said.

Magyar promised that the Tisza government’s prime minister would make his first trip to Warsaw, his second to Vienna, and his third to Brussels. “And he will remain there until he succeeds in reopening negotiations on EU funds,” he added.

“We must govern our common home, Europe, jointly and responsibly with our European allies.”

“The third thesis: Hungary is a NATO member,” Magyar said. He believes that the global military alliance ensures Hungary’s security. “It is shameful to be the weakest link in this military alliance.” He considers it a crime that a NATO member allows Russian spies to roam freely.

  3. Surprised I don’t see any EU flags in this photo then.

Obviously not telling you that you should, it’s just the most immediate contrast between Hungary’s and Poland’s demonstrations with remotely pro-EU sentiment.

  4. Rusophilles are scum, orban has been in power for way too long

  5. I’m not hopeful about getting rid of Erdoğan at least for the next couple of years. So right now I can settle for Hungary.

Hungarians, I’m with you. Europe is with you. You will get rid of Orban and his dictatorship very soon! 🩵

  6. a clear sign of political winds in hungary might be shifting. whether one agrees or not, its powerful to see people actively engaging in the future direction of their country within EU framework

  7. lol not even one thousand people. the europe propaganda is wild.

  8. Europe could use a few more like you, Péter Magyar. Thanks for fighting for us, and way to go Hungary.

  9. Only the first few libs are real, the rest are photoshopped there by Soros himself.
