  1. They say minsters are doing his because of rising anger at the use of hotels for migrants. I’m not sure it’s the use of hotels that’s the main reason for the anger, and giving them homes when people have been on council waiting lists for years isn’t going to be very popular either.

  2. These people aren’t asylum seekers. They’re economic migrants, looking for a better life. I don’t blame them, but I don’t want them here either.

Housing them is wrong. It will only encourage more.

  3. Yeah this isn’t asylum in most cases. This is economic migration.

I understand. I don’t blame them. But let’s be honest here. It’s a back door way of getting into the country.

Although the Conservatives brought in 1 million Indians legally over the last few years (average of 200k per year) the media will try to focus on asylum seekers more

  4. Folk who have been turfed out by landlords, had their homes repossessed and those who have escaped house fires and stuff, have been plonked into B&Bs for years. Councils then moan they’re spending millions per year on emergency accommodation, as there are no houses.

Then as another commenter pointed out, folk have been on waiting lists for years, waiting for council housing.

Why did nobody come up with this idea before? Could have saved a fortune on hotels, the waiting lists would have got smaller, and people would have had proper homes.

This is what will make folk angry, the kick and the teeth from being stuck in a B&B for a year or so, then the councils buy new houses and house people who weren’t on the list.

  5. Want to solve the illegal migrant crisis? You don’t house them in hotels or homes people could actually use. You house them in processing facilities. They are here illegally after all, any other country would do the same to you. You make it mandatory they spend a minimum amount of time in these facilities whilst the authorities ascertain if you are a threat. No perks, no PS5s and free smart phones, no take away vouchers, you can’t leave unless you wish to return to your country of origin.

If you’re not deemed a threat, you then must undergo a cultural education period so you understand what it is like living in this country’s culture and what we will not stand for, if this conflicts with your beliefs – you are welcome to leave, we will arrange transport to a country of your choice (that will accept you). After you are released you must check in with an officer of some kind regularly to ensure you are integrating successfully. If people are truly fleeing war and persecution, this is a small inconvenience to them that they will endure without question. Will weed out a lot of the fakers and economic migrants too.

  6. Britain is near fucking bankrupt! These fucking clowns in power really don’t get it do they.

  7. what the heck is wrong with UK government? is current UK government a real UK government or a migrant government? Keep on putting migrants above own citizens.

taking own people for granted, it definitely going to backfire real hard one day.

  8. Imagine being a economic migrant in some far off country. You would do everything in your power to get to these shores. Streets are paved with gold………….

  9. The politicians making these decisions will be replaced by Reform candidates at the next election. No prizes for guessing why.

  10. The government are clearly trying to cause some sort of war on the streets of this country aren’t they.

  11. Is this from Reform’s marketing department who have embedded themselves in Labour’s policy unit?

  12. Put them in tents like France and give the empty homes to British people.

  13. British citizens are the back of the queue for priority yet again…

  14. I’m sure this is exactly what the public wants

  15. No one with a brain wants them living next to them either. I think deportation would make more sense

  16. I remember when people had to work and save for a house, a car and a good life…ah, memories…long forgotten.

  17. Yet many young people are forced to live in obscene rent money rooms cuz no one will five them mortgage based on their earnings. Make it make sense please

  18. What about the people already waiting and waiting for years to ffs, the government is a joke!

  19. Once again the government going against the will of the people.

  20. This is going to help calm the anger of people isn’t it?

  21. Are labour literally trying to commit political suicide…

They have basically handed the country to reform and secured a summer of riots.

I don’t know how Keir can literally be this shit and domestic politics , when international he has been decent.
