Trade between the Republic of Moldova and Poland has steadily increased, reaching 509 million dollars last year, which is a 70% increase compared to 2018, when the value was 300.8 million dollars. Poland ranks fourth among Moldova’s main economic partners in the European Union, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, the 2024 results reflect both the diversification of Moldovan exports and the growing demand for these products on the Polish market.
Moldova exports to Poland mainly fruit juices and nuts (50.4 million dollars), yarn and cables (21.1 million dollars), apricots, cherries, cherries, cherries and peaches (9.5 million dollars), as well as fresh and dried grapes (8.8 million dollars). Moldovan wine exports to the Polish market rose to $8.5 million last year. Other exported products include sunflower seeds, chairs, men’s and boys’ suits, pipes, as well as bags for packaging goods.
The Republic of Moldova imports mainly consumer goods and technical equipment from Poland. Among the most common are cheese and curd, pork, chocolate, refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, agricultural machinery for harvesting and threshing, and medicines.
There are 88 enterprises with Polish capital operating in the Republic of Moldova, with equity investments totaling 249.3 million lei. According to the amount of invested capital, Poland ranks 13th among the main investors in Moldova.
