Guess which country is positioning itself to be the global economic superpower of the coming century? Not the one with the ridiculous ‘coal-fired’ AI plan.   9. I understand why countries pursue hydro. However I think solar is increasingly a better solution in terms of the tradeoffs. Yes solar has a large footprint. But dams have many environmental impacts with economic consequences like loss of agriculture and fisheries downstream.

China will surpass the U.S as the world’s strongest super power shortly because America re elected a man who is a child rapist, a convicted felon that wants us to go back to the 1900s with big beautiful coal. Meanwhile, the rest of the world passes us by with renewable energy while our miners die from black lung again because he removed all protections and safety guards. I dont see how we can avoid this unless trump is removed from power and put into prison for his crimes. This country is screwed as long as he is in charge.
