Oh fuck off
That’s insane…
Could be but won’t be
Ew pay site
Sounds like anywhere outside in Scotland. Welcome, everyone.
It’s both a bit sad having to ban this, but also everyone up in arms about the ban. You know you can have fun and a good time without alcohol… right?
If it’s true it would be based on litter people leave behind like beer cans extra and to stop the risk of people going into the sea drunk
What Whitehall cunt had this bright idea
I wish them good luck. Probably unworkable in the UK .
Why anyway?
Still cheaper than a pint in central London
Sharia for uk!!
Unenforceable I’d say.
“small minority of people who can spoil it for other”
They are projecting
Fair play, i like a beer but there are alot of nobs who spoil things.
Ok so what have twats been doing, my guess is it’s either getting pissed and antisocial or leaving empty beer cans/bottles.
Weed it is then
Isn’t freedom wonderful 🙄
Studland Bay, Dorset. Also band the lighting of fires and bbqs, littering in general, and camping. All part of a PSPO.
So you don’t have to open the filth page.
Love this. People need to learn to meaningfuly enjoy themselves wuthout alcohol
They need to put a stop to the shennanigans that go on in those dunes, not the people enjoying a cold beer on a summer’s day.
So, what’s to stop me taking my large thermos mug filled with vodka and ice, and a few cans of coke and a plastic cup?? Nothing, this is an unenforceable law.
Side note, if you leave rubbish on the beach, especially glass bottles, you’re a fucking helmet
Goodbye beach visitors. Idiots
It’s because of woke
I won’t be participating in this bullshit spreading around the UK. I’ll have a bear on the beach and I’ll swear in public if I want to. You can take me to court.
This country has a drinking problem that people refuse to acknowledge
I knew pints were getting expensive but that’s pushing it a bit
Shell bay is one of my favourite beaches near me. There’s over a million visitors a year with anywhere up to 25,000 people visiting in a single day.
It’s a nature reserve with very little in the way of facilities for much of it. I’ve never seen any sort of official presence, police, beach wardens or lifeguards on the bit I go to so it’s unlikely to make any difference to me.
The bit popular with tourists has trouble with anti social behaviour, litter and fires. It’s a SSSI site home to the UK’s only known breeding site for a species of seahorse, home to all 6 native reptiles and rare birds including a few critically endangered species.
There are fires from disposable BBQs or littered glass almost every year costing the local area millions each time while further decimating wildlife, these habitats take 30 years to recover.
it’s unlikely that these fines will be enforced and unlikely to make much of a difference but if the possibility of a £1000 fine discourages pissed up antisocial visitors from the beach then good.
The non existent police presence aren’t going to be checking the 25,000 visitors a day along 4 miles of beach for booze.
I think some wrote a book about this in the 40s
UK becoming more puritanical and authoritarian by the day.
