TLDL version: the parliament and VZ changed the law because the anti-corruption board was compromised by Russia and as a way to go after corrupt Ukrainian politicians.
After suspending the law, VZ then reinstated a similar, but stronger anti-corruption law. By seeing those in government who were in vehement support of the original suspension of the law, he can see who was likely corrupt or compromised.
We’ll only know if its real if he now goes after corrupt politicians, but that’s the idea.
For fuck sake guys, can you stop trying to find conspiracy theories to justify whatever shitshow was this law? Do you think all of the Ukraine knows less about internal affairs of Ukraine than someone from abroad? Do you think all of the people who protested the law are idiots not understanding wtf is going on?
P.S. I’ve been protesting in Kyiv for 5 days straight and if you want to have a discussion why giving Prosecutor General, who is appointed by the president, the ability to view and redirect cases from NABU to other agencies such as SBU, which is basically controlled by the President, doesn’t help with finding spies – leave a comment. Especially after NABU started investigating one of the Zelenskyy “inner circle”. Furthermore, most of the condemned searches were for fucking CAR CRASHES, only 1 or 2 were actually tied to russia.
