Hello everyone,
I started to see these bugs on my ceiling in the living room. They are brown coloured and I saw couple of them every day.

My ceiling has the layer in the picture.
I live on the ground floor with a garden terrace and there are lots of trees on both front and back side of the apartment.
The big question is, if this bug is harmless or is it a cockroach and requires immediate action ( like pest control ). I never saw them on the ground and they started to show up for the past couple weeks.
PS – reposted it because managed to catch one and took a closer picture.
I am living in this apartment almost one and a half year now. Do I need to call Landlord? Are they responsible for it and should pay for it ( if it is a cockroach infestation ).
Thanks.

We just found some similar looking bugs and were a little concerned. But ours look similar and from a little research they’re probably harmless: https://www.nabu-rheinhessen.de/2019/10/16/fehlalarm-in-rheinhessens-küchen/
Bernstein Waldschabe.
Is it a roach? yes. But it’s a roach that took a wrong turn and ended up in your apartment. They eat dead plant material and actually die in your apartment. Normally, they live outdoors, and as the name suggest, in areas with trees. dude came in because they are drawn by light.
they are protected. so collect the dude and set him outside.
also:
>Are they responsible for it
yes. any pest infestation falls within the responsibility of the landlord
>and should pay for it ( if it is a cockroach infestation ).
no, you don’t need to pay for it.
in this case, it really is just a bug that thought the bright light was the moon.
