Hey all,
I’m American and there’s an extremely interesting if a little informal dark podcast about historical figures and events called “Behind the Bastards” which explains why history’s worst people were the shitheads they were.
Well he has a 3 parter on the Irish famine. As Americans go, I’m a bit interested in Irish history (trying to unplastcize) and I’m learning some things, and definitely entertained.
The co-host is a rapper/teacher/podcaster named Prop from Southern California who has a podcast explaining history and current events through the lens of street gang rules. You might like it if you aren’t expecting your history to be stuffy.

Sorry for typos. I’m learning from the podcast in addition to what I’ve read
Hope folks like it.
Just finished it last night. Very good, consistent with the BTB style. Would’ve been great if they had an Irish guest.
[Big post about it when it came out last week.](https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/u1zl4n/behind_the_bastards_that_time_britain_did_a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
It’s not often you hear historians calling the famine genocide. It’s certainly far from the consensus view.
Thanks for sharing! I hadn’t heard of it.
